I remember the song, Red Borchetta, of the rock band ‘Rush.’ It inspired several futuristic short story writers. Are you fond of racing cars? There’s something that will surely captivate a lot of enthusiasts soon. Recently, Ferrari, a famous Italian sports carmaker, announced that they would bring new models by 2022.
Ferrari’s Five-Year Strategy
Louis Camilleri is the current CEO of Ferrari and former Chairman of Philip Morris International. He took the place of the late Sergio Marchionne. According to him, his plan was ambitious but do-able. The framework is detailed.
As Ferrari starts out the strategy, it aims to gain core earnings of €1.8bn-€2bn (£1.6bn-£1.8bn) by 2022. Ferrari is also confidently pursuing to introduce the SUV, Parsonage before the said year ends.
The company is developing new vehicles such as hybrid petrol-electric car models. By combining a petrol or diesel engine with an electric motor, a hybrid car can consume less fuel and produce less CO2 than the standard ‘petrol’ or diesel-fueled vehicle.
According to Enrico Galliera, Ferrari’s Chief of Marketing, the new models would cost higher than the average price of car models that they have in the market.
A Glimpse of the Past
The classic Borchetta is a two-seat racing car that was introduced since 1940 and has become successful. It's a diminutive form of a boat which is an open-top sports car.
There’s also a type of it that has a convertible roof. Later on, the Fiat Borchetta was mass-produced from 1995 to 2005. Borchetta has brought numerous triumphs in the World Sportscar Championship.
The Emergence of Newest Supercars
Ferrari has the new supercar model—Ferrari Monza. It is a limited edition of a sports car. According to the company, there will only have less than 500 of these modes available. Ferrari started unveiling the models to investors and some customers in September 2018.
It has the most innovative sports car technology available today. Ferrari Monza has an 810-horsepower V-12 engine and a lightweight carbon-fiber body. This special-series sports car comes with two models: Ferrari Monza SP1 (one-seater) and Ferrari Monza SP2 (two-seater variants). The supercar costs more than $1M. The company claims that the Ferrari Monza can reach 100km/h in three seconds.
Ferrari promises new brilliant models with pure design in the future and purchasing a new car is an exciting achievement.
